Production Supervisor: Night Shift 

Summary

Production Supervisors are integral members of management teams and responsible for implementing and sustaining change, controlling inventory and material flow, ensuring meeting the needs of customers, and driving bottom line results.  The Production Supervisor coordinates resources across one or more shifts to ensure smooth and efficient manufacturing operations while promoting a team environment and continuously improving all production methods while adhering to all safety procedures.  They are responsible for training and development of hourly employees, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies.  The Production Supervisor is a result driven leader with a passion for implementing and sustaining improvements, the ability to think strategically, solve problems, lead members, and drive quality in their facilities.  They must also empower members to recognize and make improvements and lead department initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitors and evaluates machine operation to ensure that all products manufactured are of the highest quality and meets customer expectations.
  • Responsible for KPI’s directly related to Productivity, Scrap, Quality and Scheduled Hours.
  • Ensures that the day-to-day operations are being followed and established to produce good quality products.
  • Monitors and communicates effectively to team members of what products should be run and on what machines.
  • Supervises hourly, non-exempt employees so that the plant runs effectively and efficiently.
  • Trains and develops hourly, non-exempt employees.
  • Coordinates production activities with support functions including Quality, Materials/Logistics, Safety and Maintenance.
  • Onboards new team members utilizing M&M Industries best practices in new hire training and development.
  • Initiates safety, quality, delivery, cost, and morale improvements within the Assembly operations utilizing World Class Manufacturing tools and principles.
  • Performs Systematic Workplace Organization, Autonomous Maintenance, and Safety Initiatives
  • Performs other duties assigned.

High School Diploma or GED required. •Bachelor’s degree preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS

Competencies (Knowledge/Skills/Abilities)

  • Ability to apply critical thinking and root cause analysis tools and prescribed documentation methods to identify defects, develop countermeasures, and solve problems.
  • Strategic thinking skills.
  • Skill in driving for results.
  • Skill in Problem Solving.
  • Ability to drive quality in the facility.

Experience

  • Minimum of (3) years of experience in a supervisory role required.
  • Injection Mold Experience (preferred).
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Lean Sigma Principles (preferred).
