Forklift Operator II, Night Shift (12 hours)

Summary

The Forklift Operator II pulls designated materials, wraps pallets for shipping, and scans pallet movements to keep production flowing and ensure accurate inventory levels and locations. Additional responsibilities include performing cycle counting, completing relevant shipping paperwork, monitoring inventory levels, and resolving discrepancies.

Key Responsibilities:
• Follows safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
• Examines pick tickets to understand what products and the amount needed for each shipment.
• Examines work orders to determine what materials are needed for each job.
• Scans finished products into inventory and transports them to the appropriate location.
• Pulls and scans pallets of materials needed for a designated order.
• Completes Dock Audit log sheets.
• Scans order to trailer for loading after verifying.
• Loads trucks with product and material for transportation.
• Assists the supervisor, coordinator, or packer to ensure production and shipping needs are met.
• Maintains a clean and organized work environment in accordance with the 5S principles.
• Performs assigned cycle counts as well as for reconciliation in inventory system.
• Completes physical audits of inventory and documents any issues after cycle count.
• Audits designated areas to create process changes and improvements approved by management.
• Assists in training new employees regarding inventory control and scan gun usage.
• Performs all other assigned duties.

QUALIFICATIONS
Competencies (Knowledge/Skills/Abilities)
• Able to use banding equipment.
• Able to use a handheld RF scanner.
• Ability to shrink wrap manually or operate shrink wrap machine.
• Basic computer skills.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Comprehensive understanding of Food safety, GMP, PRP, HACCP, awareness of food contact materials, as it relates to food safety packaging (in applicable facilities)

Education
• High school diploma or G.E.D. (required)

Experience
• Prior experience driving a forklift.
• 1+ years’ experience in material handling, receiving, warehousing, or shipping.
• 1> years’ experience in cycle counting and computer-based transaction analysis.

OTHER
Physical Job Requirements
• Able to lift and handle a minimum of 45-50 pounds.
• Exceptional hand-eye coordination.
• All work is performed in a manufacturing environment which may be hot/cold and requires the use of PPE at all times (eyeglasses, ear plugs where required, etc.)

Licenses & Certifications
• Forklift Certified (required)
